Below are some
photos of the1906 Victor V (or
Victor "The Fifth").
The restoration of this talking machine was completed May 24, 2006.
The Victor V was manufactured
by The Victor Talking Machine
Co. from 1902 to 1920 and was originally priced between $60
to $67.oo . Wooden horns were
available from about 1904 and cost an additional $3.oo
to $8.oo when purchased with
the machine. This version of the Victor V comes with a transitional triple-spring
motor (also known as the "Five and a half" motor), an Exhibition
Reproducer, and a Victor No. 31 Oak Spear-tip Horn.
This oak talking machine will be completely restored
back to factory condition using the same techniques as when the machine
was new. Shellac and varnish will be applied and hand rubbed between coats
which completely duplicates the original finish. The motor and reproducer
will also rebuilt.
